Pickleball is growing rapidly in Austria, and so is the number of places to play. Whether you’re a beginner looking to try pickleball for the first time or a regular player searching for a new court, this guide provides an overview of the top facilities in Austria and tips on how to find the right place for you.
You can find a constantly updated overview of all our facilities in our list of locations.
Pickleball in Vienna
There are already several places to play pickleball in Vienna. From indoor facilities to public outdoor courts. With the Europahalle in the 23rd district (two hard courts with permanent nets, bookable via europahalle.at) and the public courts in Donaupark, both organized and open-access playing options are available. Open-play sessions are organized by SPORTUNION Rackathletes Austria, among others. Also active in Vienna is the Pickleball Vienna group.
Pickleball in Lower Austria
Racket Revolution in Wiener Neustadt is currently Austria’s most modern facility. The 4th Austrian Championships were also held here in April 2026 (with 140 entries, it was the country’s largest pickleball tournament to date). Other facilities include the Brokensticks Sports Center and the Padelzone Wiener Neustadt.
Pickleball in Styria
Graz is home to two well-established venues: the Racket Sport Center Graz and the P9 Pickleball Austria outdoor facility (three original hard courts with floodlights).
Other states
There are already opportunities to play in Upper Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol, and Vorarlberg—some in indoor tennis facilities, others on converted badminton courts. You can find a complete list of addresses, booking options, and contact persons on our locations overview. The Sporthotel Kurz in Oberpullendorf, Burgenland, is also emerging as a tournament hub: The first international Base X Pickleball Austrian Open will take place here from June 25–28, 2026.

What You Should Know Before Your First Visit
If this is your first time playing pickleball, here are a few things that will help you get started:
Equipment: You’ll need a pickleball paddle and a special ball with holes. Many facilities rent out equipment - perfect for trying it out. To get started on your own, you can find paddles, balls, and accessories in our shop.
Clothing: Wear comfortable athletic clothing and indoor shoes with good cushioning. By the way, yellow clothing is prohibited at many tournaments (due to the ball’s color).
Open Play: Most facilities offer open play sessions where you can join in without registering. Perfect for meeting people.
Find playing partners
Having a court is one thing - finding playing partners is another. On our community platform, you can find players near you, organize games, and become part of the Austrian pickleball movement.
